Currently, Bensell's has 3 bonsai trees at the hospital.  A juniper, a serissa, and a chinese elm.  All are in pretty rough shape.  The chinese elm was purchased in 2006 and has been in an office for the last 3 1/2 years.  It has never been given a cool/dormant period so it is really struggling.  We have it in 45-50 degrees right now and see if it can recover.  The juniper was placed in full sun over the summer of 2009 and has dried out.  Remember, this is too much for these trees.  I am not sure if this one will make it.  The serissa has been at the greenhouse for 8 months.  All of its branches died and it is now growing a few new shoots.  It is almost ready to be pruned and shaped.
